Welcome to: "A" Company, 2nd Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers.

We are a group of like minded individuals who portray a battalion of the British Expeditionary Force (BEF) of the World War One period. The Lancashire Fusiliers were founded on: 20th November 1688 by the raising of six (6) companies in the city of Exeter (England) and it's vicinity. At the height of World War One.. known then as 'The Great War', The Lancashire Fusiliers fielded some thirty-three (33) battalions. For their actions in 'The Great War', the Regiment was awarded sixty-three Battle Honours. The Officer's and Men of the Regiment were awarded: eighteen (18) 'Victoria Cross's' (Great Britain's highest military Valour award), two thousand one hundred and thirty eight (2,138) British and one hundred and eighty (180) foriegn decorations, whilst six hundred and seventeen (617) were 'Mentioned in despatches.
The Regiments greatest Battle Honour for The Great War period is Gallipoli = 25th April 1915. On this day... six members of the '1st Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers' were awarded the Victoria Cross for the same action duing the Allied landings at 'W' Beach, Cape Helles. This historic event has become known as "6 V.C.'s before breakfast", with the area of the action being renamed as 'Lancashire Landing'.
Our reenactment / living history group... founded and commanded by a genuine British Military Veteran... is a part of the 'Great War History Society' of Southern California. Our standards are high, and as a unit we police ourselves by honouring the period contempary regulations for the British Army = King's Regulations and Orders for the Army: 1912, Manual of Military Law : 1912 (reprinted with amendments - 1914), plus any and all period contempary HMSO (His Majesty's Stationary Office) publications, and all HMSO approved documents and pamphlettes.
The main criteria that we ask of and expect from new and current 2nd Battalion Lancashire Fusilier members are:-
1) You agree to honour and abide by the above mentioned 'KR's.
2) You agree to portray a WW1 member of the 2nd Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers in total period contempary.
3) You agree to (whilst in uniform) maintain a period contempary appearance for haircut, no facial hair.. other than upon the upper lip (trimmed as period contempary), and no none period body piercings or jewelry.
